Wow, where do I begin. We showed up a few minutes after the 9:30 opening, and left a few minutes before the 5PM closing time. It was a full day, but we were able to see everything we wanted seeing without feeling rushed. It’s a good thing we didn’t try to squeeze in “Greenfield village”. The F-150 factory tour wasn’t available today, and there would have been no time for that either. So we pretty much will have to go back. The parts that stood out for me were the car exhibits, including the exploded view of the Ford Model T. The racing video was also something worth seeing. It was interesting to see the very large steam engine in operation. Unlike a steam locomotive which is very noisy because we hear the steam escaping, the steam engine operated nearly silently. This is a machine designed before ball or roller bearings were invented, so the moving parts were oiled by oiling reservoirs attached to the machine. Claudette also enjoyed the car exhibit, the train exhibit, the Disney costume exhibit, and the farm machinery exhibit. The costume exhibit is a temporary one, and what was on display were the actual costumes worn by the actors.
