Claudette’s 2 cents: If there is one thing that is annoying is having bugs land on you while you’re working, eating, or worse, sleeping. That is so with our latest invasion of ladybugs.
We first got a large infestation of them last fall after spending several days at Shenandoah campground. We hadn’t noticed them at first, that is until we closed the slide-outs and saw all these little buggers flying everywhere. We thought that once we’d get back home to Virginia, they’d die off in the cold. No such luck!
We first noticed them when we opened those slideouts again in West Virginia. They were creeping out from the rubbers by the dozens. I’d say the hundreds but then, I’d be exaggerating – but only slightly. We kept thinking that they’ll die at some point, but NOOOOO. They keep multiplying and bugging us.
Now that we’re in Little Rock, Arkansas, they are out in full force. Bernard is busy sucking them up with the vacuum cleaner. Let’s hope this will work.
Update (February 6th, 2022) We’re losing this battle. Sure there are less than when we left Virginia. We’re hoping they’ll find a new home somewhere in the forest, in the city, or maybe a neighbor’s RV. Just so long it’s not ours. But Alas! It’s not working. So Bernard broke down and got this huge gallon of bug killer. It’s ‘safe’ for us, as long as we don’t put our faces up close and personal on the windows. We’re sorta passed that stage – for now.
The good news is that those buggers are falling dead everywhere. At least, when we’re vacuuming, we know they’re not coming back.
Bye BYE!!!!!!!!
