What’s Covid?

Welcome to the KOA in Nashville, TN

Nashville, TN

We arrived in Nashville this afternoon.  We decided to take an evening drive into Downtown Nashville.  As we are driving around, and taking night scenery pictures, we got to the busy section where the action is.  There were people trying to find places to park all over the place.  By the time we got to the area that had street closures, there were pedestrians all over the place, walking to get to different venues that had live musicians & bands playing inside, and we could hear loud music coming out from all over the place.  We saw perhaps a dozen people wearing masks, out of probably a thousand people or more moving around.  There was zero social distancing on the street corners as people waited to cross at traffic lights.  As we have been moving further west and south, there is clearly less and less compliance with masking recommendations.  In other times, it would have been fun to park the truck and wander around.  But this just seemed too risky for us.

Claudette’s 2 Cents: This is our 6th campground since we’ve left. The drive went well considering the icy conditions we had a few days ago. We arrived at our KOA Nashville in the middle of the day. It must have rained quite a bit because there were lots of water.

We decided to go for a drive in downtown Nashville – check out what’s happening on a Saturday night. It appears that Covid in none excitant here for no one (from our perspective at least) was wearing masks. And this area had high rates of infection. Oh well! We’ll be observing the craziness from inside our truck.

But seriously, this looked like a mini Vegas – LOTS of Lights, and LOTS of Music, coming from many bars – lots of open mics from my guess.

Our campground is next to the Gaylord Opryland. Everything is still decorated for Christmas. It’s nice to see all the festivities still up.
