On our way to the New England area

This blog doesn’t have to be just about RVing, but that’s how its turning out…we could have posted about our one week trip to Chicago a few weeks ago, but I didn’t.  Tomorrow we set-off on an 11 state RV trip, designed with two purposes in mind: 1) See fall foliage colors 2) Add states to our RV map

On the first point, we believe, having lived many years in Canada, that the colors are nicer with the tree variety further north than they are at home in Virginia.  Three factors: Oak tree leaves prevalent in Virginia just become brown;  No sugar maples here that become bright red; No birch trees here that turn bright yellow.  We hope we’re not too late in the season, and that at least part of our journey will be during peak colors.

Two, we have a map on teh side of our RV, and our personal rule is that to add a state sticker, we need to sleep at least one night in our RV in that state.  Driving through or having been there with our previous RV does not count.  So this trip, the plan is to hit 7 new states, 6 of which are collectively recognized as the “New England” region.
