We had a Vegas stopover on our way from Death Valley to Zion National Park.
Vegas being a major city, we planned to do a restocking trip at Costco on Friday, and despite being in an RV where space and wight are ever present considerations, we still managed to spend several hundred dollars just as when we head out there from home.
In Death Valley, our tow/haul feature on the truck stopped working, making things more complicated particularly on steep downhills, where tow/haul leverages the compression of the diesel engine to manage speed, rather than riding the brakes and overheating them. With the help of a phone consultation with Sebastien, and viewing of a few YouTube videos, Bernard partially disassembled the steering column, and actually removed the column mounted shifter to determine that repeated friction had cut one of the conductors. The temporary repair until we return home and can buy a new part features a doorbell button and a piece of wire from a spare power supply to activate/deactivate the tow/haul. It Works!
I had made arrangements for us to see a Cirque Du Soleil show during our stay, and we had booked seats for the Mad Apple show on Saturday night.
On Saturday morning, we found out via email that there was a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships) event at the T-Mobile arena which is right next door to where our show was, so we decided to head out early and arrived on the Vegas strip at 11AM, giving us a chance to explore ongoing changes since we had last visited many years ago. The show was not the best Cirque performance we have seen, but it still made for a pleasant change from our routine up to now.
