Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument

Not much to see here folks…  This as by far the most disappointing National Monument that we visited on this trip.  The road into the monument was “fun” and we were glad that we didn’t have the RV in tow.  The small visitor center building was open but unstaffed!  We had a picnic lunch in the N.M., and then moved on.  The N.M. was established because of its biodiversity and the fact that it is on a historically significant “Applegate trail”  that was once used as a road to the west by early settlers.

Now that we had a free afternoon, we headed out for a wine tasting at Weisinger Family Winery.  We enjoyed their wines enough to acquire 3 bottles to bring back to our RV.

Bottom line, is that we have no regrets of including this as one of our stops, because we truly enjoyed the scenery from the county-operating RV park at Emigrant Lake, as it provided for truly stunning views.
