A long trip is not like a long vacation. At some point, normal tasks of regular life need to be attended to.
Here are three that we took care of during our 3-day, 2-night stay in Portland OR. Bernard went to Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) hospital to have his voice prosthesis replaced (pre-scheduled activity – not an unplanned emergency); we did a major Costco shopping spree (incidentally at Costco wharehouse #002 – the first Costco ever having opened in Seattle, WA); and an oil change for our truck (6K miles driven so far on this trip)
But we did also make time for fun activities.
Claudette loves the giant trolls from artist Thomas Dambo, and we visited one located right here in Portland. This particular one is named Ole Bolle
We also visited Multnomah falls, who’s claim to fame is that they are one of the tallest year-round waterfalls in the United States (at 620 ft) and are the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest.
