Today, we visited the Museum Of The Northern Plains in Fort Benton MT. It was certainly the most comprehensive museum we ever visited about farming, and its key feature was a full chronology of the evolution of farming equipment starting from horses, and then steam powered tractors, and finally internal combustion engine tractors, along with all the various forms of equipment they pull, down to drills (seeding implements). We spent a couple of hours there, and that’s just skimming over most write-ups. The museum counts Alberta and Saskatchewan as being a part of the Northern Plains, and even has an exhibit dedicated to farming improvements made by Canadians.

Afterwards, we walked alongside the river in the downtown area. While there were plenty of vacant storefronts, this place is doing much better than most of the small places we have traveled through across the country
