This stop was an add-on because I heard and read so much about it from the RV community.
A bit of research reveals that the permanent population of Quartzsite is 1000. But in January and February it hosts on average 700,000 visitors, mostly RVers staying on Bureau of Land Management dispersed camping areas. The estimated total yearly visitor count is 2M.
BLM information on their website as to the point of entry and where to camp not all that helpful, but we figured it out. Once settled in, it was a fantastic experience. There is something magical about being self-sufficient (at least for a while) and having no hookups whatsoever
There is not a lot a whole lot to do in Quartzsite at this time of year. In fact many traditional campgrounds, as well as restaurants and businesses are closed for the season.
