Today we visited two museums. In the morning we saw the
Indian Pueblo Cultural center which is focused specifically on the Pueblo Indians. We found out that contrary to many other tribes, they were not displaced by the conquering countries (Spain, then Mexico, and finally the USA)

National Atomic Museum Because of Monday closures, we had to do the Albuquerque museums today, which resulted in us cutting out our day trip to Los Alamos. We will eventually go there, but this museum did a terrific job at covering three aspects related to the atom: history, science and technology. There are also a number of exterior displays featuring large planes that played a military role relating to atomic bombs and missiles.

Claudette’s Two Cents
Did you know that the word Pueblo means village? The more I learn about Native American culture, the more I feel we need to learn more about their way of life. There is so much wisdom being shared.
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer was a book Bernard and I read for our local book club. We learned about the Three Sisters – Corn, bean, & squash. This reference has come up many times during our trip and I am grateful to have read this book, to help set some context I guess for what we saw.
Here are some pictures of both museums.
