We woke up to snow visibly falling in the El Capitan area of the Guadalupe mountains. On and off, we had a number of snow squalls throughout the morning. In the afternoon, we drive north to the city of Carlsbad, the closest place to buy groceries and top up our fuel tank for tomorrow’s travels, since the sign told us that the first 145 miles has no services whatsoever.
Claudette’s Two Cents.
I thought it was exciting to see snow. We were comfy inside our four season RV, bundled up in my fuzzy socks and heavy blankets.
But, those poor people who were camping in tents!!! I think a few of them slept in their cars.
Here’s a short video clip of the snow.
This was also the perfect day to do some painting. I will be honest, I thought I’d do a lot more painting, but we’re so tired at night that we end up in bed early – at times as early as 8:30 pm.
