Carlsbad caverns

We have seen many caverns before, including Mammoth Cave National Park, but this one was by far the most impressive.  To begin the tour, we took an elevator down to 750 ft below the surface.  Then we begin the self-guided tour which is 1 ½ miles in length.  Younger ones can walk in from the natural entrance to the caves, which bypasses the elevators altogether on the way down, and descends the 750 ft over a distance of an additional 1 ½ miles.  Rather than try to describe what we saw, it’s probably best to just share some of our pictures.

Claudette’s Two Cents.

Can you say “WOW” too many times? Apparently not. At least Bernard told me I had no limit, which is a good thing because I must of said WOW at least a few hundred times.

I’m not going to say just how many photos I took, but enough to spend hours looking through and wondering which ones I’d share here. The sad thing is that no matter how many photos one takes, it will never do it justice.
