Central State park, Edmond, Oklahoma

Today we moved North from the DFW area and arrived in Edmond, our base to visit the Oklahoma City area.

Welcome to Oklahoma.

They have no online booking system, and no phone reservations, so its all first-come-first-served.  They have a limited number of “full hookup” sites, but all were taken when we arrived.  So we found ourselves a great “regular” RV site, which in their case adds a twist to a water and electric site.  Sites have individual 50A pedestals, so that’s great.  However, they have “community water”, which means that each water spigot is shared between multiple campsites, and in our case over a 100ft away.  Thankfully, users of the park seem familiar with the arrangement, and a few of them had several long hoses connected back-to-back.  So we visited a neighbor, and borrowed their long hose so we were able to fill-up our tanks.  3-days is not a problem for our gray and black tanks, so we will use the dump station on our way out.

But all of that is only a minor inconvenience, considering the beauty of the view from our site

Claudette’s Two Cents.

Let’s be honest here – coming to a campground that is first come first serve AND has no one in attendance is stressful! Especially when you’re driving a 35 foot long RV and have no clue where you’re going or if you’ll end up in some dead end. That’s my two cents on the matter.

I was a tad bit concerned when we saw some of the conditions of the other RVs there. Clearly, some people are living in theirs full time and going to work each day. A super inexpensive way to be able to live when things are tight. I get it and thumbs up to them. I just get a bit concerned when you see a car with a broken window, an RV with a blue tarp on its roof. In all, everyone was nice and quiet. No issues. I share this because I think it’s always important to be aware of your surrounding. And I also think it’s important to not assume the worse of people.

In all, this was a beautiful and peaceful place for us to visit Oklahoma City.

A dining room with a view (I love that I get to keep my interior and just change the outdoors every few days.)
Good morning everyone. Don’t let the picture fool you. IT’S COLD!!! 34F that morning. Oh! Did we tell we had neighbors in tents???
Bernard is napping underneath that pillow. I swear. He’s fine. He’s sleeping. I promise.
It might have been because of Bernard’s new favorite beer that he’s taking a nap. :0) Just kidding.
I found this on Facebook. I’m borrowing it from whoever posted it there. Thank you stranger.
