Today we are in Lafayette, Louisiana, which is in an area of the state called Acadiana. The plan is/was to visit Acadian Village which is an 1800s reconstruction of early Acadian life. Instead what we get is flood watch… 4 to 8 inches of rain expected today, peaking at 2″/hour. As a result, extensive local flash flooding is forecasted, with local news advertising locations where people can go and get sandbags to protect their homes, and mentioning nearby locations where stores already have water inside.

Claudette’s 2 Cents:
Yes, we’ve had some really crappy weather while here. I’m not going to complain as I got to do some work and get ahead of some of my postings. We did manage to sneak in a nice dinner and campfire outside before this deluge.

One thing that happened while staying here was that our Starlink Internet stopped working. This gal was not very happy as we’re heading out to areas where cell phone reception is nil and using our hotspots is not the best. So let’s hope that we can resolve our internet issues very soon.
