Day two brings us to our friends’ home – Lori and David, in Lancaster, SC. They were so excited to have us camp in their backyard (actually, it was between the house and their garage) that they spent several days and made many attempts at measuring and cutting trees and limbs just to ensure that we’d be able to get through their driveway.
As we neared their home, Lori even drove up to meet us and gave us a personal escort into their driveway. When we arrived, I told them to take a seat and enjoy “the show” of us backing into the spot they had made for us during our stay. In all, within 30 minutes, we were settled and ready to enjoy our visit.
We enjoyed great food, did some shopping, and even did some painting while we were together. David showed us what he could do with his brand new 3D printer (we had LOTS of conversations about whether it was a good idea to get one for the RV trip…). We even invited Lori and David to our “home” for dinner. That was really fun.
Two days went by too fast, and we promised to come back again for a longer stay.
Here are a few pictures of our stay.
Bernard’s 2 cents:
Lori and David started off as Claudette’s business acquaintances, but over time, they have become real friends to both of us. They certainly made me smile with their frequent get-well cards following my surgery last year. During this visit, they even got me engaged in a gnome painting project. The gnomes were 3D printed overnight by David, to show off the impressive capabilities of his latest “toy”.
