we had been to this park before, and intentionally came back here. A funny thing happened when we got to our site…it was occupied. So I get out of the truck, and walk up to the man who was visibly in the process of either setting up or packing up. I told him, “you’re in my site”. He pointed out to me that he has been coming to this campground for 25 years, and that this was still his site, before checkout is at 3PM. That was quite a surprise because on one hand, we never encountered this late a checkout before, and furthermore, a campground that does not plan a gap between check-out and check-in. So we parked on the road and waited for about 30 minutes for the previous camper to leave.
This has been our first encounter during this trip with hiring difficulties. The campground has a pool, but the pool was closed due to the lack of lifeguards. Oh well…
