What’s new with us

couple

I decided to take a peak at our website and realized that it had been over a year since the last time I wrote. I guess it’s time to catch up with the news.

So much has changed since my last update in March 2015. Bernard started a new job in Philadelphia working for Comcast. It was a decision we thought would last for about 6 months. But look at us now. It’ been 18 months and we’re still here.

I have to admit that I am rather enjoying living in the city, although I love my home in Marshall. City living is so different from being out in the boonies. In Philly, we walk everywhere, most of the time. We go and sit in the park and watch people interacting with one another.

Doing groceries is very different as I tend to buy in smaller quantities and purchase only what I can carry. That also means that it’s more expensive.

We’ve lived in three different places while in Philly: Home2 Suites in front of Reading Terminal, The Windsor which was literally right behind where Bernard worked and now on Locust Street which is a few blocks from Rittenhouse Square. Our current place is a one bedroom apartment that overlooks Philadelphia.

We’ve had guests to two of our places and loved having company. Carly, Taylor and Mason came to our first location (which was really small) and then we had Yves (Bernard’s brother) come for a few days in August, then Taylor came for a week just before school started and then my awesome friend Josy and Mike who came to spend several days with us.

I know that I’ve not been very consistent with updating our dream life because, well, it’s been a bit hectic. So as the days and weeks go by, I’ll post a bit more regularly and add some photos as well.

See you soon.
